Aerial Mob, in partnership with Passmorelab and VR Media, offers a full range of 3D/VR modeling capabilities from initial data capture to post processing to final delivery of data sets. By combining technologies such as LIDAR, plenoptics, and photogrammetry with our technical expertise in film production, we offer both ground-based and aerial capabilities to create full 3D/VR models of film sets and locations around the world.

TURNKEY FIELD CAPTURE & POST

A single point of contact for capture and processing expedites delivery. Our personnel participate in posts to quickly answer questions related to specific jobs.

VFX PIPELINE OR VR FORMATS

Data can be delivered in formats for VFX/CGI use, volumetric VR and as a game engine asset. This multiuse approach ease data integration for all aspects of a title’s distribution strategy.

BAKED OR UNIFORM LIGHTING

Post relighting is enabled with optional capture of a separate channel for specular peaks. By isolating speculars and shadows, the resulting normalized, diffuse model can be relit.

MULTIMODAL POINT CLOUD

With several sensor types for optimized capture, we use LIDAR for precision, photogrammetry for image detail and plenoptics for motion. All sensors feed to a single database.

IN-HOUSE SOFTWARE TEAM

Unique requirements, corrections or formats are handled by our in-house software team. This provides lower risk and faster delivery than outsourcing to various production shops.

EXTREME ENVIRONMENT READY

Our team is specialized in extreme environments. Caves, jungles, cliffs and underwater are the worlds we capture. With have on-site medic and a staff heavily trained in vertical rope work.

UVS INTO 8K IMAGERY STACKS

Precision LIDAR data points are correlated and UV-mapped into photogrammetry image stacks. This yields a visual fidelity and precision not possible with only LIDAR or photogrammetry.

HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE SENSORS

Image capture is done using big quantum well HDR sensors to eliminate any motion blur during capture. In addition, an IR or UV channel can be captured on especially challenging sites.

ADAPTIVE RESOLUTION DELIVERY

Master resolution point clouds and tessellated geometry with ultrahigh-resolution imagery is our standard delivery. On request, we also deliver watertight decimations and abstractions.
